IDRA Sustainable Energy Community
With support from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), IDRA have established an IDRA Sustainable Energy Community (SEC).
The IDRA SEC aims to help local residents to identify energy savings in their homes including
-
types of upgrades you can make to your property
-
different technologies and their suitability for your home energy needs
-
available grants and how to apply
-
Warmer Home Scheme : For homeowners who receive certain welfare payments
-
Home Energy Grants: For all homeowners
-
-
additional funding options
-
how to find an energy professional in your area.
Over the coming months, we plan to run some workshops in the area and welcome you to come along to meet some Energy Experts and find out more. We will circulate more information shortly on how you can get engaged.
Not sure where to start?
The first step is to assess your home’s energy efficiency – there are two ways of doing this.
-
Borrow a Home Energy Savings Kit from your local library. These kits help you assess how you use energy and where you might be wasting it through poor ventilation or certain appliances, for example.
-
Alternatively, engage a professional to carry out a home energy report on your dwelling.
